Bank balance when filing chapter 7

If a check posts the same day as the Chapter 7 filing, resulting in a zero balance after posting, is the amount of the check property of the estate subject to administration by the trustee I will not file until I get a copy of the Bank Statement so I can review the balance of the account. If the funds are close I have the debtor take out a cashier’s check for rent or car payment, etc and place that in the mail. It does not matter that there are checks out and about waiting to clear the bank. Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee, creditors and debtors have their part in this system and it is an integral design to keep the balance. I ask clients to get a balance print out (online or ATM) right before they sign the paperwork so we can accurately state the available balance.
