Means test income

I have a bankruptcy client who receives substantial per diems from his employer when working out of town, but he spends all of it for related expenses and then some. I gather it must be listed as income, but is there a place to deduct the amounts he pays for the expenses themselves I see the business/profession expenses might be a crush fit, but his income is actually wages and the per diems. Any suggestions for the best way to deal with this. It’s going to make the difference of getting into a 7, or not. I am not sure that this is actually income, just as mileage reimbursements are not income.
