Massachusetts has not opted out of the federal bankruptcy exemptions. Neither has Texas. Client had room to exempt the snake and the cage the live mice were kept in—i.e. lunch and a few lite snacks for the snake, but no exemption room for the mice. A threat of delivery of uncaged mice to the trustee resulted in no objection to exemptions. The most interesting asset I’ve had in months was a guy with a pet frog.
